Brief article on the issue of Cell Phones in the Classroom from Teaching Today: http://www.glencoe.com/sec/teachingtoday/educationupclose.phtml/52

Based on this article, here are four uses for cell phone:

- Caluclator or number crunching in classes that don't have calculators readily available

- Digital Camera or Digital Video Recorder to record classroom processes or field trip experiences that can later be used for multimedia presentations

- Internet access for research, online activities, blogging, etc.

- Dictionaries - easily look up spelling or meaning of words

Here are some other possible uses:

- As a "homework book" - students can use their calendar to record assignment and homework due dates

- All students, but especislly Special Ed students, can use the Voice Recorder to record class notes for later use

- Download Educational Games: i.e. download tetris as a resource for studying 2-D geometry shapes
